Description
Sail-Right is a double braid sailing line made in the USA from 100% polyester, with a braided core inside a braided cover. Its yarns are steam-set and pre-shrunk before braiding to keep the line set, and polyester gives it low stretch, high strength and strong resistance to rubbing and sun. It's most often used for sheets on sailboats and other rigging lines, it's torque-free, so it won't hockle or kink, and it comes in four colors so you can tell your sheets apart. Our Double Braid Polyester is the same fiber and build without the pre-shrunk yarns, in sizes up to 1 in, and HMPE is the step up for more strength with very low stretch.

About the rope
How is Sail-Right different from Double Braid Polyester Rope?
Both are 100% double braid polyester made in the USA. The yarns in Sail-Right are steam-set and pre-shrunk before braiding, to keep them set. The yarns in Double Braid Polyester are not. Double Braid Polyester also comes in larger diameters, up to 1 in.
What is it most used for?
Rigging sheets on sailboats.
How much does it stretch?
We only have breaking strength test reports for this rope. Like other polyester ropes, it stretches roughly 15% at breaking strength, and roughly in a straight line down to zero.
Why can't I order a custom end on 3/16 in?
3/16 in is too small a diameter for an eye splice or other customizations.
Why can't I add chafe guard to a 1/4 in eye splice?
Our smallest chafe guard is 1/2 in. We can work on a custom setup if that would help your job.
Other jobs
Will it work to secure a loft floor net?
Yes. A customer asked about specs calling for a strong, low-stretch synthetic rope like polyester or nylon, ideally 8-10 mm thick, laced between the net's edge and secure fasteners (hooks or eyelets) installed around the frame. Sail-Right will work for that.
