Description

This 3 strand twisted biodegradable rope is great for industrial packaging applications, nursery industry, arts and crafts, pet toys, scratching posts for cats, decorations and tying or wrapping. Sisal rope is an excellent knotting rope with low stretch and is generally safe for pets.

Sisal is a natural plant fiber extracted from the leaves of sisal plant (Agave sisalana) and imported from Brazil. Sisal is a moderate strength rope with excellent grip in the hands. Our sisal rope has a pleasant, natural smell. It is a grassy, earthy smell that is not off putting. Our three strand sisal is a great choice for indoor use, and is not treated with any chemicals or preservatives. It is not so great for outdoor projects since it will deteriorate quickly from exposure to the elements.

Our sisal rope is generally safe for pets. Please do your own research for the particular species for which you are considering buying the rope.

If you need a smaller diameter than this 3 strand rope, consider our Sisal Twine as another option.

Sisal vs Manila.

Some people confuse sisal rope with Manila rope. Sisal is lighter, softer and has a lower tensile strength than Manila and is less expensive. Sisal and Manila can both be used indoors or outside but sisal will rot more quickly when exposed to the weather. Manila is stronger and longer lasting than sisal.
