Our macrame rope is made of many fine threads twisted into one very soft, easy to use string. Our 100% cotton ropes are made in the USA and are very flexible, and make great knots. These qualities make this eco-friendly rope an excellent choice for many hobbies and artistic projects. These small macrame cords are available in several sizes. This single-strand cotton rope is also called macrame string. 

Our single strand macrame rope is sold by weight and the diameter listed is the approximate diameter after it has been unwound from the tubes. The product is tightly wound on cardboard tubes or cones so it appears to be smaller in diameter. As it comes off the tube it loosens up and expands and we are using the expanded diameter as our measurement. A good way to compare our products sizing to others on the market is to compare the number of feet per pound. If you are trying to match a diameter you currently use, choose our diameter with the closest number of feet per pound.

Our macrame ropes are 100% cotton. Many industrial cotton ropes on the market are a blend of cotton and synthetic materials like polypropylene, acrylic, or polyester. Blended cotton ropes are stronger and less expensive and they certainly have their place in the market. However, we have found that our 100% pure, natural, cotton ropes are better suited for our customer’s needs. Our undyed, unbleached natural cotton is a charming, off-white, cream color and is ready to be dyed if you choose. 

Our cotton ropes are generally safe for pets and birds since they contain only natural cotton fiber. These ropes are intended for indoor use and can be washed if needed. Cotton is a natural plant fiber and shrinks when it gets wet.
